With the whole player tblm thing fresh in their mind and then an old white dude yelling at them all the time. Yeah, it's gonna rub them the wrong way

A better argument is Mizzou. They were down multiple WRs, have a freshman QB, and also don’t have the overall skill talent that OM has running a new scheme with little practice. And they had everything down cold, knew exactly what to do and killed our defense with it.

While I see your point, a new defensive scheme/philosphy is wayyy harder to fully execute than a new offensive one. FTR, this statement was not at all making excuses for the for whatever you call we're playing.

That’s probably true, but the problem is his philosophy is flawed to stand up against high tempo spread offenses. His entire scheme is built around “read, then react” playing. Offenses are too quick these days to play reactionary defense. Pelini got torched at the end at Nebraska and his defenses always looked like they were 3 seconds behind the play. His scheme involves too much thinking by the players

My take is, LSU football, From O down to the 3rd string punter, are All complacent.

Say what you want, but there is no fight out there other than the offense showing some grit to keep scratching back.

Saban, Dabo, Urban, all coaches who have had success. But you didn’t see this type of drop off following a championship. And spare the “ACC sucks”. We’ve played St, Vandy and Mizzou. Great coaches find a way to avoid complacency. O, love you for last season, but that’s over. Stop basking in that glory and find the fight again. We look weak.

My opinion is in light of all of the turmoil, continuity was paramount. LSU hired a guy that scrapped the entire scheme and attempted to put in a new scheme with no real August camp, uncertainty on the start date and a massive influx of new players.
Losing Aranda was huge.

Not because he's Aranda and great and Pelini sucks, but because of what you said. Starting completely from scratch, with no time to work on things.

Clark, the guy from North Dakota, Anthony, Moore, Stevens, Harris, Hampton, Logan, Flott, & Ward aren’t very good. When that many players aren’t very good, you tend to have a problem.

There are only 3 starters on the field from last years defense: Stingley, Stevens and Logan

This. In order to blitz, you need to be able to lock down on man coverage. To play zone, you need to apply pressure with 4 down linemen. We don't have the studs to do either.
All young, inexperienced players, that lost the benefit of spring practice.
This team was hit harder than any team in the NCAA with players leaving/opting out.
Face it, this is not LSU's year.
Everyone should have seen this coming.

Getting beat because the other team is better is one thing. Getting beat because you haven't been taught what to do is another.
O canned Canada (duty wise) after about 7 games and this clown should be fired or re-assigned Monday morning!!

It looks to me like the players don’t really like pelini how they did Aranda

Players need to learn and understand the defense. They mostly looked lost out there. You would think we are playing without a linebacking crew and the dbs are lost.

There are some serious scheme questions, communication questions, adaptability questions and talent questions about this defensive unit

The players aren't ready.

Maybe they are stuck in a terrible scheme, maybe they didn't put in the necessary time and work to learn what they SHOULD be doing. Maybe both.

Given that there's little in-game adjustments to stop the bleeding once it starts, I think the players are more at fault than the scheme itself. I think O would be pushing something, anything, to plug a hole temporarily... we've lost 2 games where the offense absolutely did enough to win. If they could hold an average, unranked opponent to under 30 pts, we're 3-0 and the future is bright. Instead, we're wasting a completely acceptable after-Burrow offense. Brennan's throwing for WAY over 300 yds a game, with 3-4 TDs a game, and he isn't even sharp yet. Just imagine what his development could be if he could relax and try to find a rhythm, instead of being under pressure to score and keep pace.
