Any OT’ers into lux watches here? Will this become an addiction?
I dabble, but I don't have a problem, I can quit anytime I want.

Does the price fluctuate much from MSRP?

Goodness gracious.
That a Nautilus? Also, Royal Oak, Batman, and a Hulk. Insane collection, just missing a panda Daytona
Edit: which get the most wear?

If that makes you happy and you have the money, go for it. I don’t wear a watch anymore.

There are two Nautilus a 5980 and 5711 along with a 5167 Aquanaut. The Royal Oaks are a Forged Carbon Diver and a 15400.

I am not into the modern Daytonas but buying and selling 4 digit vintage ones is what paid for my current collection. Not pictured are the two vintage ones I still have and one is a Panda.

I rotate every day so they all get pretty equal wear. I don't really have favorites but if I had to pick a watch to wear for the rest of my life it would likely be the Seadweller SD4K 116600.

I've never owned a new Omega. I've had a few old Omega Seamasters over the years. Other people always liked them more than I did, though. I've never paid a lot for one. Somehow, I've always managed to find them cheap. My first one was a 1967 found in the bottom of a box with a bunch of glasses and odd costume jewelry from an estate sale. It was in good shape with no band. I paid to have it cleaned up and got a band for it. Wore it a few times and sold it to a friend. Another I bought off of a table at a flea market for $10.00. That one was older and in worse shape than the other, but was repairable. Again, no band. I sold it the next day to a guy who collects old Omega's. He got it running. No idea what he paid for that.
I've had a few others that I paid a little more for, mostly from estates or from people who just wanted to get rid of stuff.

Incredible. Yeah I’ve heard Daytona’s are sort of impractical because they are really hard to read. I of course would never turn one down assuming I had the money for one, but not something I’d go for. I actually like Explorers though admittedly have never worn one. Look and size just seem right.
Hope to put a small but nice collection together way down the line. To young and poor to even consider it now .

You should’ve got one of those casios with the remote control or a calculator.
Funny you say that - when I was a kid some criminal broke into our house and he stole my little brother’s Casio calculator watch and left my grandpa’s Omega - they were on the desk together

God damn, hope you got a safe for those

It’s a beautiful watch. My wife bought me a Ball Hydrocarbon Engineer Chronograph when we were living in Singapore. I still wear it daily. I’ve had it on my wrist now for almost 12 years.

Again, somebody needs to break down how this $10,000 watch tells time better than my $150 Citizen.

What makes that watch good? Serious question. It looks nice, but that can't be all. What else does it have going for it?

Does a $100 dress shirt cover your body better than a $5 shirt from Goodwill?
I’m assuming you shop for all of your clothes at Goodwill, live in a modest home that only fits your needs (no extra space or amenities), and drive a stripped down used vehicle that meets your needs and has no “extras”.
ETA: a luxury watch watch does not tell time better than a cheap quartz watch, is that what you wanted to hear? No one who is “into” watches will argue otherwise.

I was replying to someone about the Speedmaster, which has a hand-wound chronograph movement. You will have to wind it everyday.

It's a piece of jewelry, dude. A 1ct diamond ring functions the same way as a 3ct.
Some people are into watches and it's not for everyone.

Moon Watch FTW
ETA: Does your Dodge Hellcat get you to the Sonic any faster than my Dodge Neon??
Actually, yeah, it probably does, but we're both getting a grape slush and tots and loving life!!
