I just don’t get why it’s so hard to say yes I denounce the KKK now are you going to ask Joe if he denounces Antifa? That was layup answer and he whiffed so bad.

Terribly. People don’t want to admit it but it’s true. All he had to say was Absolutely now Joe I want you to condemn Antifa. Biden would of then said antifa is an idea which is baloney and Trump would of had a great attack.

It was a softball he whiffed on. But anyone making an issue of this wasn't going to vote for Trump anyway. The American people have had 4 years to take their measure of Trump on this issue. I could be wrong, but I think all but the hard core leftists know he isn't racist.

He has denounced it over and over again. The rehash by the left is comical. I would have answered it in the same way just to get them fired up. No one actually thinks Trump is a racist.

Trump answered it in a way that fired up his base. Unfortunately that’s not who the debates actually sway.
It’s not an question that needs much nuance. When they toss you a softball, you knock it out of the park. Trump didn’t do it.

If he doesn’t condemn racism by using the words “white supremacy” THIS week then he will lose this election.

Again, Out of everything tonight, Trump missed a huge opportunity on that question and it will be the primary talking point in the days to come. He could have nailed that issue down and buried it. Instead, he stepped on his own dick and gave the left a golden nugget.
