Inheriting a boat it hasn’t been used in about 5 years. It has a Yamaha 85hp. Need a full check up on it. Thanks

Outcast marine was pretty good to me when I brought my rig in for annual service.

Not much to check on one of those simple beasts if you're familiar with some simple tools and maintenance

I'd change lower unit oil, change impeller, check compression, clean the fuel filter, maybe clean the carb bowls. I have a 1996 Yamaha 85hp. Fires up everytime instantly and has been a reliable workhorse. Have been running it on cheap supertech 2 cycle oil for years and regular old 87 octane with the ethanol. These motors have low compression heads designed for operation in third world countries with poor quality fuel.
