Some say the team left the field for the national anthem. what is the truth ?

The entire Houston team and staff left the field for BOTH songs. They returned before kickoff and joined KC on the middle of the field in a "moment of unity" in which all members of both teams linked arms from one end of the field to the other.

It was said that Houston decided not to participate in either song because they didn't want it to seem like they were celebrating one song while denigrating another.

Doesn’t matter what the song is...players crying about equality but then they want two separate national anthems. Unity my arse.

They locked arms. No one kneeled for the national anthem.

At least one guy did, knelt with his fist in the air. Imagine a white person doing that to a white national anthem.

He would be labeled a white supremacist.

How the frick does respecting the flag and country equate hating black people? You are a prime example of the problem

You are a bigot. You think you have the right to tell black people when they are "allowed" to protest.

Did we do you good last night, masser?

will just say that I watch sports for the distraction from every day life.

This is the standard quote I see on fb etc. how miserable is your every day life that you need sports as a “distraction from every day life?” I love sports because they are enjoyable. I don’t watch them just bc I hate my life and need a distraction

I think the people booing in the stands is the real telling part. They don’t care what the players do during the national anthem, because they’ve made up their minds that people who support black lives are bad and have to continue doubling down on that belief, despite anything of the contrary taking place. Someone in another thread here said that last night’s show of unity was BS. Like, even though it actually happened, he or she can’t acknowledge that it was real because their stance on the issue begins to crumble.

This would never happen. If there was a white national anthem then that would be the most racist thing ever, but a black national anthem is ok. Hell if we are gonna do that then every race needs their own national anthem and spend 30 minutes listening to national anthems every time they need to be played

Yes my comment was more about the pandering of the tv broadcasts and constant reminders. Didn’t have a problem with any players. Just don’t show the player kneel and zoom in on him. The commercials. Just over. BLM is a terrorist group built on lies and false data and is unfortunately able to use extreme popular uneducated puppets to push their agenda.

The black national anthem is a fricking joke. Glad a couple teams have already treated it as such

Seems like you are the weakest link! You are the fricking joke. Show where is some book or constitution where it says, during the national anthem, you have to stand up! It a tradition! it's not mandatory. Just because someone knelt doesn't mean they disrespect anything. I notice the announcer ask for a moment of silence, and alot of white people were screaming and hollering. A moment of silence, not screaming the announcer ask. A lot of people keep their cap on during the national anthem, but I see you bitching about that.
