And I dug deeper and looked at his Instagram. This dude is just trying to throw a pick and hope it sticks. He’s a soccer guy at heart

I don’t know if it’s him attempting to ”play to the crowd” in these interviews with UGA writers, but Smith comes off as very confusing/awkward in the 2 articles recently posted. He double backs and contradicts himself on a lot of things. Feels forced & Very difficult to follow. Mentions Pete Jenkins “relationship” with UGA’s coach as an influence. Orgeron is basically Pete’s nephew

Idk what to make of the guy at this point other than LSU’s side has remained confident. If I had to make a wager my gut says Smith to LSU and Foreman to UGA. Package Deal Shmackage Deal.

New Georgia article elaborates further. It really doesn't sound as bad as some of you negative Nancy's are making it sound :D

(Also sounds like Korey Foreman stayed in Baton Rouge a few extra days if I read right??

“To be honest, I think that we are pretty solid,” Smith said on Monday. “Like school wise. Where we really feel is best for us. Oh, it is honestly like we talk about this like every day. We didn’t talk today, though. That surprises me but he was still in Baton Rouge today.”

It would be nice he did an in-depth interview with some of the LSU recruiting sites.

Vandagriff shared a story from the table at Mellow Mushroom in Athens over the weekend with DawgNation. “Korey he looked us in the eye at dinner,” Vandagriff said. “He said and these were his exact words ‘I’ve never felt a vibe like this before’ and he said ‘This group is special right here’ and he wasn’t wrong. That group, it was awesome.”

And then he got to taste some REAL food at Ruffino’s, Mike Anderson’s, etc.

Athens Mellow Mushroom.... BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Thanks for sharing “Part 2” of the Maason Smith UGA visit story. Now I feel MUCH better about LSU’s chances again.

SUMMARY:

He knows EVERYTHING about LSU, since he has been there “a hundred million times” and has been growing that relationship since the 8th grade.

At UGA he went pond fishing (NOTE: the dude lives in Houma in top of some of the best fishing in the world), and he sat on a tailgate for hour and a half talking to guys he never met before while getting eaten by mosquitoes and gnats and realizing Foreman had never heard chirping crickets before, haha.

Yo... Coach O got this, blee dat.

The article doesn’t say anything about him going to Georgia either. Says he was a Bama fan. His dad is a Florida fan. It says he never grew up like most Louisiana boys, worshiping LSU. It also says he wants a place that feels like home and a staff that will take care of him while at school and after. It also states that many schools preach it but don’t live it. It also says he wants his grandmother of 80 something to be able to come see him play. It also says he wants a school that has great connections in sports broadcasting and hopefully someone that can get him in there at ESPN or sister network. All these things sure sound much more like LSU to me than Georgia.

I’m pretty sure he knows that Orgeron doesn’t sugarcoat shite. He also knows that Orgeron is one of the best coaches at his position, that LSU just won a championship, LSU just put a ridiculous amount of talent into the league, has a bright future and is stacking up on OLman and QBs of the future. Idk man? I think you just may be reading too much into it myself lol.

I've got certain guys I trust and many of them feel it's been back and forth due to Foreman but that the ball is still in LSUs court in not so many words.

If you’re implying that we wouldn’t necessarily want Foreman due to character concerns, that’s absolutely ludicrous. #1 player in the country at an impact position who is claiming to be a package deal with our #1 in state target—if someone who meets those criteria wants in, you let them in. Period. No chance in hell we’d turn him away.

Already sick of seeing threads about him and UGA. Louisiana players like him are why I don’t follow recruiting anymore. I couldn’t give a chit if he goes to UGA. Given Coach O’ s success and expertise with DLs and LSU’s success, he’s dumb as a ducking rock if he doesn’t go to LSU and it’ll be no big loss. BTW Houma-Thibodaux has not been good to LSU with their very very very few HS stars, ie T Reed and Greg Robinson. Area may “love” LSU but not it’s football stars. And truly the area is a wasteland for HS football. Truly pathetic area for athletes.

Calm down bro. It’s just a high school kid trying to do what he thinks is best for his future. He’s earned that opportunity. Just because you love LSU doesn’t mean everyone else from Louisiana bleeds it too.

I hope like hell he comes to LSU. But he wouldn’t be “dumb as a fricking rock” to go to any Top 10 program. He’d be doing what he thinks is best for him. Some guys want to get away from home and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that.

I don't think that's what he was saying
Like I said earlier I think it's foreman pushing for uga and it's hurting us with maason.
That is the only possible way maason wouldn't come to lsu

Kids from South Louisiana that don’t go to LSU right now....

Definitely have no sense of team, family, etc and are likely “me” players. There are none of those guys in HOF. Football is a team game still.
