I haven’t tried much more than core locts and Winchester ballistic tips.

Again, what grain are you trying to shoot and what’s the barrel twist? The x-bolt hunter is a 1:10 twist. ETA: That should be good enough to stabilize anything.

The flier that you’re getting, is it the 1st shot or one after a few shots.
If it’s the 1st shot, is it every time?
You need to shoot a few to foul the barrel prior to trying to shoot for groups.
Then the barrel needs to cool some (not completely cold) between shots.

That says a lot, not a fan of core locks, try different weights and brands. 30-06 has a ton of options. I have a 7-08 x mark and it’s a tack driver! Get you some DNZ bases and rings, if you can swing it, a better scope as well. Good luck!
