No...not really...it sounds like you are...UTenn signs LA recruits all the time...last year two...Miss. State, Ole Miss, Auburn, Alabama, Arkansas all have LA kids with scholarships on their rosters. Any top notch 3* or 4* kid that LSU passed on is snapped up by other SEC schools & OU does have a recuiting pipeline to Alexandria Senior High - I'm from there so I know and you can see it on OU's Rivals commit lists over the last 7 years. The SEC hits LA so hard that all the LA smaller schools have to go out of state to completely fill their rosters...

ever see ULLs roster? My brother played at then USL, and they recruited TX heavily...

The Texas schools want no part of LSU, even without Saban's players.

Actually, thats not true. I'd love a home-home with LSU to start out the year.

Instead, we are stuck with Arkie for the next 10 years. Should redevelop into a nice rivalry from the SWC days. It just sucks we have to play at Jerry's World.

If I could iron out the details with LSU's new AD, I'd do it tomorrow. I subscribe to the theory that you have to beat the best to be the best.

Recruiting, first and foremost, is about improving your team and its talent base. It is about getting the type of talent that you can coach to do the things you want done. When a young man is offered a scholarship early, it is a very good indication that the coaching staff believes that the young man is the type of talent necessary to improve their squad.

this is almost a carbon copy of some LSU fans

Jonathon Stewart is a solid player. He would have done well at LSU after a few years ( just like Riley and Sheppard). He'll play at A&M.

"I want the best athletes we can get, period.

But, it is a little short sighted to say that we're raiding Louisiana despite L$U being MNC champs considering we haven't gotten an LA kid they wanted and what would be our most impressive recruit (C Micheal) is from texas and may go to L$U.

If they're good players then I'm glad we're going where ever we need to to land them, but it isn't like we're "showing miles" or anything."

that doesn't sound like they're all insane...just the guy who started that thread...we have plently of those too

They are implying that we pay our players...TX and TX A&M fans accuse LSU of that fairly often on those boards.

That's funny Aggie fans would accuse LSU of paying players when their own football program was on probation for paying players. Interesting thing about the below link on footballs dirtiest prgrams of the last 20 years is that the top 3 schools are Big 12 and Alabama is #4.

There is no establishing a pipeline into Louisiana. It's true that LSU is the only school worth commiting to in La. and it pulls all the instate talent, but this is not the main reason. The culture here in Louisiana is completely different than that of anywhere else in the US. It is very hard to take a kid that grew up here out of state. I have lived all over the world and I would not want to live anywhere else. Look around.. Would you want to live in Mississippi, Alabama, Texas, and Arkansas over Louisiana if you grew up here your whole life. It's all about the culture you were brought up in and the people and a Louisiana kid will not trade that for any of those border states.

I disagree...OU has recuited well out of Alexandria Senior high for 10 or more years...when was the last time LSU got a kid from there?

Maybe LSU didn't want any...I don't know for a fact, but what is a fact is they have gotten about 4-7 guys over the last 10 years from this LA high school.

It may not be an EXXON sized pipeline into LA, but OU definitely has some kind of relationship with the coaches. Other than that, I believe you are right...

Looking at the other SEC schools that recruit and regularly take LA kids...there seems to be no rhyme nor reason (no patern) as to any one particular high school. Thus, there are no relationships with High School coaches that I know of. Other SEC coaches just find out about a kid LSU passes on and then starts working the kid and/or his HS coaches from scratch or a kid's parents or HS coaches send other SEC schools film.
