nothing more than the flu
I have a friend who had it in April. She's 26. No previous health problems. Wasn't hospitalized. Still has major breathing problems. Has not been able to return to work. On her most recent follow up appointment her doctor told her it would likely be October before she's cleared to return to work at the rate her recovery is going.
The CDC says flu deaths average from 12,000 in a great year to about 56,000 in a bad year. In 2017-18 flu season 80,000 died, the most in 40 years. That is with a vaccine and people going about normal life.
We've had mass shut downs, social distancing, and mask requirements in large parts of the country. 156,000 deaths and rising.
It's. Worse. Than. The. Flu.
