The counterpoint is that public health is not materially different than it was prior to COV and the fear has been irrationally played up.

Only because we failed to implement a national testing/ tracing system and we didn’t adaquetly suppress community spread before lifting lockdowns.
Look to Europe and Oceania for how this could have been done better in the US.
