History wise, madden is much easier to play offensively but much tougher to play defensively. lots of high scoring shootouts. much better defensive struggles with NCAA.

I've had the exact opposite experience. I've scored 210 points in a game of NCAA before and routinely scored over 100. I don't think I've ever gone over 70 on Madden before. I LOVE this version of NCAA. Not sure what everyone is bitching about except it's harder to get to the corner which imo is a good thing. It's much more realistic to only get 3-6 yards on a running play than turn the corner 9 out of 10 times.

I know I am loving this version of NCAA. Getting tackled for a loss of yards, or like you said getting 3-6 yards up the middle is more realistic. I'm not rushing for 170+ yards each game with my RB anymore.

The stats seem more real, other then completion percentage...
