She was ignoring the host's focus on Washington and referring back to her own mention of Confederate generals.

Either she didn't watch the speech (she didn't) or she is deliberately mischaracterizing the Trump speech because he specifically didn't talk about Confederates, as the political left assumed he would.

This is the kind of political move by Trump that would be brilliant if he hadn't already ruined his reputation - Democrats can claim he spent his speech talking about Confederates because most people will just assume that's true...because he has spent so much time defending Confederates.

I like that Tammy Duckworth wants to have a national conversation about Washington and Jefferson, but not when she's on a national tv show watched by national viewers.

She had that answer prepared long before a question was asked. In fact, the question she was asked was going to be irrelevant to her response no matter what it was.

If you think we need to have a "national conversation" about Washington or Jefferson, it tells me you basically question the entire premise for the existence of the United States of America. frick this traitor.
