Pretty damn good movie based on the Battle of Kamdesh. What a fricked up situation they put those boys in. The movie was well done and Caleb Landry Jones as Ty Carter stole several scenes. Anyone else check this one out yet?

Read the book. Also know a few people who were at Restrepo. So I’m looking forward to watching this. Hopefully it’s realistic enough to serve justice to what those guys went through.

What’s the movie on? I served in that area myself after the events that took place in that book. It was no mans land and we had to escort Mi-17’s to resupply COP Keating.

I just finished it and thought it was a very good movie. The action was pretty intense. It does suck we put our guys in that position.

Bump. Just started it. Will edit later.

Edit: The 30-40 minute battle scene towards the end of the movie is pretty damn well done. Its tough watching how screwed they being at the post they were at. These heros we lost is why you stand for the flag.

I read the book “Red Platoon”. Different account of the battle but great book.

Movie was good but Orlando Bloom shifting accents was annoying.

Yeah but IMHO, Orlando just has a weird accent. I always thought in The Pirates of the Caribbean that he sounded weird, but I think that’s just how he talks in most movies. lol:

SPOILER:
He didnt last long in this movie though.... And it was at the hands of a cliff dive and not the Taliban. Go figure I guess...

Keating died in 2006. That’s when they named the camp after him. The movie took some liberties in trying to write him in. He had no affiliation to that unit.

Just watched it. Awesome action film with lots of great cinematography.

If you have a home theater, the last 20 minutes will have you white knuckling the ride.

Thought this was really good actually.

I wish they'd found a way to provide a little more detail on camp layout and the surrounding area, but I know you can't please everyone.

I'm not a big Jake Tapper fan anymore, but good for him being an advocate for telling people this story and about those guys.
