Disney changing the name SplashMountain because the ride is tied to a Jim Crow film. Proves there is no intelligent life left on this planet.

Splash Mountain is ridiculously outdated and old and shitty.
And Princess and the Frog is a top 3 Disney film.

I go to Disney yearly. Can’t remember the last time I rode Splash Mountain. Really not that great a ride.

Splash Mountain is a classic ride that needs a refresh, not a rebrand. I would love to see a Princess And The Frog attraction or restaurant, but not in Frontierland where it doesn’t fit the theme.
Chapek has been a pretty bad CEO up to this point, especially with the parks. He’s taking the opportunity to look good by rebranding what a few may see as a racially insensitive ride. If you don’t think this has anything to do with racial tension, just look at the parks. Epcot is a construction zone, the Tron coaster at Magic Kingdom isn’t done, but we’re going to move $30 million immediately to get rid of Briar Rabbit? Really stupid and clumsy on their part.

Disney, is apparently immune from being cancelled. No company has a more checkered past filled with what is now deemed racist materials. Add to that their recent actions of doing things like removing blacks from movie posters in China (Chinese are truly racist) and it is amazing they get to exist in the age of cancel culture.

I have no problem with them updating the ride. This happens all over the parks. However the timing is suspect because of a recent petition. Disney is all about money and they see this as an opportunity.
That said, you stating Princess and the Frog is a top 3 Disney film is your opinion, and I think it's a bad one. It's not a bad movie, but no way is it top 3.
