Salt Lick BBQ is a cool place if you don’t mind driving about 30 minutes out of town to Driftwood. You have to bring your own beer.
Franklins BBQ is good if you don’t mind a 3 hour wait. Like Yogi said; no one (the locals) goes there anymore cause it’s too crowded.
There are many bars w/ bands on 6th street or there were - been about 10 years since I was there.

If Franklin's is still doing take out, do that. You have to pick a time a few days ahead.
This cuts the wait time to about an hour in your car. Then drive back to wherever you are staying.

Salt Lick in Driftwood is also CASH only.
I personally like Hoover's Cooking for a good southern homestyle meal.
