What are you talking about? Vote on what? The BOS isn’t doing shite, the head of it is the lawyer who stirred up all the shite in Missouri over the Michael brown case.

This is much bigger than this one issue, the university is filled to the brim with liberal ideologues in positions of power. The first step is hiring a new university president who isn’t a hardcore leftist, then have that person begin to eliminate these bad actors who are in positions of power.

Uhhhhh, I, like everyone else in this thread, is talking about the renaming Middleton library. The BOS is the VOTING on it (from what we have been told)

Nobody said this is the biggest issue. In fact, I just said they aren’t dying in this hill

Also, since their yes man is already putting out a statement, I don’t think there’ll be any doubt on how it’s gonna go

This all is just so fricking overblown and stupid. Just shows how many idiotic and dumbass people that we have around these days. They truly want to be given everything. They don't want to work for it, they feel entitled to it. They call everybody a racist and use that to shake people for their opinions. You seriously cannot say what you want without being labeled a racist. It is a damn shame. This country is going to be very scary if one of these communist bastards ever get into the Whitehouse again and they control the Congress. It's going to be very scary and could happen very fast. Just watch what I'm saying. This is going to get very real in this country very soon and it only takes a few things to happen for shite to hit the fan and reach that point. This world is going to hell in a handbasket and I mean very quickly. Pray about our country and these crazy bastards. We need God's help and I mean like asap...now. God bless America.

Because people Judge you based on everything you do.

You can both fight in WWI valiantly and come home and be a segregationist.

Don’t scratch his name out of the history books or revoke his medals, but Maybe he doesn’t get a library named after him at the school he was trying to keep segregated.

Ask yourself why a black student would care more about service in WWI than him against race Mixing.

again, he quoted the line "true war hero" only and laughed at it.

But you don't lose your status as a war hero if you were, in fact, a war hero.

again, has jack shite to do with whether or not he was a war hero. Regardless, no, they probably don't care, but they should care. I never said these sky screamers were smart.

Maybe try paying attention.

If you want to focus on misdeeds, should we talk about Martin Luther Kings personal life?

It's not fair to judge the misdeeds of the oppressed.

George Floyd lives a life of crime and his unfortunate death has been honored all across the country. Middleton served his country and state well, makes some insensitive comments regarding blacks in the 50s when that type of talk wasn't exactly uncommon and his name is now forever damned? GTFO

That’s from the rest of your post. So don’t pretend you were only talking about his was record. You were excusing him being a segregationist.

Yes he’s a war hero.

He was also a segregationist.

Sure let’s talk.

Cheated on his wife?

Cool. Really upsetting for his wife.

Now how does that compare to making sure the races don’t mix?

If Alumni would stop their annual fund donations and politely state why, maybe this would help divert the current downward spiral.

Yet the part of my quote concerning his military history was all you quoted. Hmmmm

Regardless, some people would argue MLK's behavior in her personal life to be just as bad as Middleton having racist opinions regarding segregation. Since when did being racist become the sole arbiter of whether you were a terrible person? 65 years ago, the general populace shared similar opinions as Middleton. It took the SCOTUS to actually do anything about it. We are all a product of the generation from which we come. I find it hilarious people take what we have evolved to as a society in 2020 and retroactively determine that most people in the past should be labeled villains because why? Because they shared common beliefs as the people around them we now don't have 65 years later? No one was calling these people villains in 1956 so why are you now? Because it makes you feel more self-righteous?

Abraham Lincoln freed the slaves not because he thought blacks were equal, but he did so to gain support for a war that was dragging out. His only goal was to win the war and preserve the union. He said blacks were not equal and never would be. So is he the devil too? Should take down monuments all around the country, in our nations capital, and destroy the general reverence he receives worldwide because he wasn't as progressive in 1860 as you are in 2020? It's fricking insane. You are insane.

He cheated A LOT, with a lot of different women. He was a POS husband.

MLK on homosexuality. Being gay is a bad habit and a problem that can be solved through psychiatry. Cancel Him!!!!

quote:

Question: My problem is different from the ones most people have. I am a boy, but I feel about boys the way I ought to feel about girls. I don’t want my parents to know about me. What can I do? Is there any place where I can go for help?

Answer: Your problem is not at all an uncommon one. However, it does require careful attention. The type of feeling that you have toward boys is probably not an innate tendency, but something that has been culturally acquired. Your reasons for adopting this habit have now been consciously suppressed or unconsciously repressed. Therefore, it is necessary to deal with this problem by getting back to some of the experiences and circumstances that lead to the habit. In order to do this I would suggest that you see a good psychiatrist who can assist you in bringing to the forefront of conscience all of those experiences and circumstances that lead to the habit. You are already on the right road toward a solution, since you honestly recognize the problem and have a desire to solve it.

And racist policies.

You understand he wasn’t JUST expressing an opinion right? He was telling another schools Dean how LSU deals with black students.

Also you could argue that. I just think anyone with half a fricking brain would laugh you out the room.

Um yes plenty of people called them villains in the 50s.

He was an abolitionist before the Civil War.

There is also evidence of Lincoln becomeing
More Progressive as he got older and the speeches and letters you’re referring to wasn’t his final thought on black and slavery.

I will never fault a man who comes around on his failures but is that the case here?

And again is he Hitler? No.

Is removing his name from a Library sacrilege? Also no.

LSU has black students. It shouldn’t have building names after segregationists.

Why stop with renaming buildings? Why not delete all LSU history prior to negroes being allowed to attend the university, and play sports?

So you can’t learn about something I’d a building isn’t named after it?

You know the Robert E Lee statue was removed in New Orleans a while ago and I think People still learn about him.

Tip of the iceberg bud:
extramarital affairs with '40 to 45 women

he 'looked on and laughed' as a pastor friend raped a parishioner exist, an author has claimed.

The civil rights hero was also heard allegedly joking he was the founder of the 'International Association for the Advancement of P***y-Eaters' on an agency recording that was obtained by bugging his room, according to the sensational claims made by biographer David Garrow - a Pulitzer prize-winning author and biographer of MLK.
