Sources told BamaInsider on Thursday that as many as five Alabama players have tested positive for COVID-19 as the team reported back to campus this week. BamaInsider reached out to a university official for confirmation who was unable to confirm at this time, stating player privacy regulations.

Last week, SEC presidents and chancellors voted to allow voluntary in-person athletic activities on campus beginning on June 8. These activities must be supervised and comply with safety guidelines created by each institution.

This is the ideal time for most of the team to test positive.

It's a virus, it's NEVER going away and there will be no 100% vaccine. I don't know why people have lost their minds, most likely never had one, and think this will be unlike any other virus. Just deal w/ it. The precedent set by the government bureaucrats 'health officials' was completely ridiculous and can not ever be followed again. Unless of course you like the idea of living like the average Cuban ?

The flu doesn't have a 100% vaccine either, but the gen pop is better off with Amy vaccine than no vaccine

oh no lol

Unless they have underlying conditions, they should end up being fine. They're going to have to quarantine though.

The virus is going to run rampant across the country, period. There's no hiding from it. It's an inevitability. This virus is going to exist in human society now like any other of the hundreds of viruses we already deal with.

The lockdowns were supposed to "flatten the curve" remember? They were never going to eradicate the virus.

LoL no it doesn’t. I bet they weren’t even showing the symptoms.

They should start licking door knobs and get the entire team infected. As long as we can avoid players testing positive during the season we're good.

Even then, their chances of being fine is still astronomically high

I mean, this sounds about right. That’s roughly 5% of the team.

Nationwide, we’re at, what, 1% with a positive test? If you tested everyone, we’d be at at least 5% of the population with a confirmed cases.

What would be surprising is if nobody on a team tested positive.

Being under 24 years of age, they have a better chance of being struck by lightning than dying from corona virus. The season is 3 months away

College football players have a higher chance of dying from heat stroke, undiagnosed heart conditions, or traumatic spinal/head injuries than they do Corona
