Most of my home automation things have WiFi built in and work with Alexa directly, it's a damn deadbolt that doesn't.

I suppose you're right. But I don't have much right now, some lamps on smart plugs, Ecobee thermostat, and the deadbolt. None that is a huge deal when the internet is out. Since I want to replace Wink anyway I'll look into a localized solution looking forward for when we inevitably add more smart stuff.
