Hackberry Rod and Gun is great and the fishing has been good when weather is suitable. Lodge is not open but you can go their website and they give info on calling guides directly.

It's not on fire, but we caught a limit yesterday despite the wind.

Been tough the last few days. Should be a decent summer if we don’t have any flooding :knocksonwood:

West cove was pretty good today. Call Josh at Redtail Charters. He’s always put me on the fish.

Much better guides than Hackberry Rod & Gun. Call Jeremy Waldrip if you want trout. No artificial bait and he will tell you in advance if you pick a bad date to fish. He is the best guide on the lake right now and has a good crew that can cover if he is busy. You won't be sorry.

Umm no. Unless you like guides that throw temper tantrums when things don't go their way.

Regardless he definitely catches fish. The guys he subs out usually produce too. Not sure what he is like in a boat.

I would recommend in no particular order:

Trout Mouth Charters
Bay Hippie Outfitters
Louisiana Backwater Charters
High Tide Charters
Get Reel Charters
Rod & Gun

Semi-retirement for Jeff and Mary.
Nick loves being able to catch snapper, tt, ling so close to the bank.
Coupled with a more favorable state tax and pretty beaches, was a win-win.
