I think it changed a few years after. When I was a recruiter later on they did it this way. SD does it on the reaper after the climb.

I come from a family of Marines who served in Vietnam. My dad wanted to join, but my grandma wouldn’t let him. Who knows, maybe if he did I would’ve followed in his foot steps.

Best friends I’ve ever had. I’m still in touch with a lot of them.
I checked into Cherry Point after A school with one of mine. He was the a corporal waiting to get discharged. Apparently he threw a mattress off the top of a stairwell and it landed on a recruit and broke his back.
