Why not experiment with a second location in a better area? You could easily close the Popeyes on Staring they are horrible. Its like Tony's seafood. They could make a killing if they ever moved off of plank road. Right now people are willing to drive all the way out there but they would take over the city if they just opend one place that didnt require armed security all day.

That is why I am going to Iraq. I need to raise the money for expansion. If I could raise it locally without selling a massive chunk of this future goldmine I would.

I saw old man Pizzolato interviewed years ago and asked why he didn't move to a more central location and he said "why? They come to me."

And they do. Why spend the money to move if they are coming to you? Plus Frikking Chicken is actually in a great location imo.

The cost of gas alone will have him wishing he were not so stubborn.. I like Tony's its great to have a quality seafood market but I have many other options I would rather settle for that are not a 20-30 min drive away through the hood. You cant swing by Tony's for some food after work with the traffic either unless you live in the area.

Do you ever go there? It stays packed from the time it opens until it closes seven days a week. He caters to many people in the area and probably makes more off them then anyone driving from afar.

I don't care how much gas cost I'll buy Tony's boiled crawfish always because they are the best same with shrimp and crabs and their prices are good. Not to mention the Louisiana Fish Fry manufacturing plant he has behind it and I would imagine the property has been paid for years ago.

Frikkin Chicken is worth the drive and when Burbank is finally four laned the traffic wiilll increase

Still think he could do much better at a different location. I have been many times. I get live crawfish from him. I prefer my boiled crawfish to his anyway. I would rather get fish at Maxwells or Whole Foods though everytime I have been to Tonys the selection of fish has been just average unless you want catfish which I cant stand. There really isnt that much of a cost savings there either. If they opened up one closer to central baton rouge I would go alot.. But its just not worth driving there for me.

Its my wifes recipe. Its the only one I didn't do myself.thats why its called micheles(wifes name) potato salad. It has to stay a secret or everyone will be cooking it up in their kitchen like meth.

Is that for traffic or security for the people getting out in that area of town?? Shoppin on Plank rd is like shopping in the 9th ward.. I garantee he would have more buisiness than he can handle with a second location. If someone else opens a simular sized store in a better location he will lose a ton of buisness. The problem is that all the stores that open like heads and tails are small and dont out the same selection. Have you ever been on the atlantic coast? The seafood stores all over there that put Tonys to shame in available produce. Tonys isnt cheap at all either.

Traffic and Security. They already have more business than they can handle. It's friggin packed almost every day, open to close. If someone opens a similar sized store as tony's and la fish fry, they would NEVER be able to compete pricewise with property that's been paid off for years, and a staff that runs like a well oiled machine with tony's volume. Think about it for a second... would you shut down your already paid for cash cow, only to move across town, pay an untold fortune in new costs, and rely on your workers that are from that area to travel across town to come to your new shiny flagship looking store? There is absolutely NO reason to move. None. That's just rediculous.
