That decides to make it a career?

He obviously loves coaching defense but watching him at NE he might not enjoy everything that comes w being a HC.

Even heard a Ohio reporter talk about how he doesn't like to talk to media or public speaking or even being in the community .

I'm betting bo is done as a HC

I think He probably doesn’t have the best reputation as a HC.

I could Easily see him being a career DC

Especially at the salary we are paying him.

He seems to hate recruiting and PR stuff. But that would be balanced out with Coach O who loves it. Pretty sure that's covered in the binder.

I think that was a strong selling point on his hire. They want stability at that position. Part of the reason Pelini took the Youngstown St job was to have family stability. If he's successful here I can see him staying in Baton Rouge for a long time.

I'd love to be top DC making over 2 million and not having to deal with all of the media and boosters. Sounds like a sweet gig to me.

I thought when Pelini took the Nebraska job that he would fail in the same ways Mike Archer did here. Both are darn good DCs, but not good recruiters, are not personable with families or the media, and would have a lot of growing pains learning about the breadth of HC duties.

Pelini actually did better than I expected at Nebraska.

I think he should stay a career DC at this point. Archer never got another HC opportunity and for good reason.

If his defenses are successful, he will be gone in two or three years.

Well, since he was recorded calling his last P5 AD a "pussy" (and a See You Next Tuesday), it is unlikely he will get another HC chance at that level for the foreseeable future. So, his options are:

1. Stay at a small school as HC (he obviously did this, but decided to move back up), or

2. Be a DC at a P5 school or NFL team

He's not going to make 7 figures doing anything else I can imagine.

I got to know him in 2006-2006 and could have told you that about him. But you take the HC job because it’s the next thing. He didn’t like it though.

i agree that i think he wants to give up the other "BS" stuff a head coach has to do... but it was widely know that Pelini was not a fan of Miles.. Pelini is the kind of guy that wants to be left alone... let him do his work and leave him be... some guys are like that...

Right On! Coach O is creating a staff similar to Clemson. This staff will be filled predominantly with coaches content in their roles and location. Believers in and Lifetime members of The O System.

I think Bo likes being in the community just not the spotlight in the community.

I agree that he is likely a permanent DC at this point and may be at LSU in that role a long time. Great foir stability if so.
