Discontent with being a legend and not a leader.

Not that he was in sole control of them, but what were Pelini's defense like at Nebraska?

His epic F the fans several times during a press conference was the last straw. He also called out several reporters, TomShatel, being one calling him a mfer several times. Nebraska got sick and tired of his lunacy and acting like an arse to most people.

He called the fans out for leaving the game early when his boys needed their emotional boost.

He called sports reporters out for being dumb arses. 99% are dumb and the other 1% wish they were smart enough to be dumb, and 100% are arses. Just saying.

And he called out the administration for being concerned about every inconsequential thing instead of Winning.

He is a hell of a recruiter, motivator, and teacher. We could do much worse than Bo for DC. But, with or without him, WE STILL COMING!

O has become a member of the extremely rare folk hero status coach. The Cajun shtick, gravely voiced, Geaux Tigahs growling, Natty winning SOB is now a recruiting machine. And recruiting is 85% of the battle, just ask Nick!

His behavior was immiscible with the staid Nebraska ptb. It lacked proper decorum.

This!

It didn't help that Pelini isn't exactly "personable." But his biggest sin was not meeting the glory day expectations of Nebraska football. Now that most fans are beginning to accept those days are likely never coming back, I'd imagine they'd be ok with a few MF-bombs for appearances in conf. championship games

he was becoming a PR problem around there so they decided to move on, pretty much that simple.

LSU let a PR problem run the athletic department for over a decade so Pelini should fit right in here.

Nebraska still views itself as an elite blue blood. That stretch would get you fired at many blue blood programs.

To be clear I think they are delusional and have not been elite since the ‘90’s. They thought well if Bo can go 9-3 we can fine us an 11-1 guy for sure. But those guys don’t grow on trees. Take a guy like Mark Richt. He is not in the same class as Saban or Meyer but he’s still better than like 90% of the guys who ever had an HC job.

At some point, when you continue to ask the same stupid questions over and over Bo tends to respond in a loud voice with a profanity laced tirade. The midwesterners at Nebraska did not care for him doing so and fired him. They preferred Dr. Tom’s quiet spokeness and use of sexual predators, drug addicts, PEDs and violent offenders to compete for Conf championships and national totaled.

Pelini was a good coach, Xs and Os speaking but his temperament, IMO, was not suited for a head coaches position at that level.

This has been covered so many times. He was not a fit for Nebraska. The fans, the admin, the boosters all want someone like Tom Osborne. The “Nebraska Nice” way was no how Bo dealt with people. That is why they hired Mike Riley. Someone completely opposite of Pelini.

He could not handle the pressure PERIOD.
Insulted almost everyone one time or another.

Even if the bosses and fans are unreasonable...
the above are not ways to keep a job.

Arrogant arse.

Wouldn't even consider recruiting Joe Burrow while he was HC at Nebraska... even though Burrow's brothers and dad played at Nebraska.

Sorry. Pelini is NOT the sharpest knife in the drawer.

He never won less than 9 games. Won his division 3 times in 7 years. Never finished lower than 3rd in his division.

Why was he let go?

1) He wasn't Tom Osborne.
2) He doesn't give a **** what boosters think.
