According to a nurse in Wuhan, staff are overwhelmed, resources are running low, and there are no beds. There are so few hazmat suits that staff disinfect them to wear the next day. Around 30 of the 500 medical staff at her hospital are now sick.

It's called perspective.

There were 15 reported pediatric flu-related deaths in the US just last week. Any threads started? Any folks buying masks and bitching about allowing international travel?

Are you comparing the Flu to unknown virus from chinese bat meat market? More people also get killed from falling off ladders. Should the WHO quit focusing on viruses and focus on ladder deaths?

So what’s everyone’s thoughts? This won’t be a big deal in the U.S. because we’re sanitary or what?

Unless it mutates, it won't be a big deal. But, it shows how vulnerable we are to a worse version in the future.

What? I bring up the seasonal flu, which is a virus and far more of a risk to you and I than this novel coronavirus, and your counter point is ladder deaths? That analogy got away from you a bit.

Never mind the fact that there are absolutely NOT more ladder deaths in the US than pediatric flu deaths.

There ARE, however, more annual ladder deaths than US SARS, MERS, Ebola, and novel coronavirus deaths combined.

Said it earlier and I’ll say it again. Now they are saying China knew about this in early December. I’m still sticking with the week before thanksgiving. Put money on it. It’s the only date time frame that makes since with the a more realistic amount of those infected and died so far. The infected number is over 100k and deaths are well over 1000 and I’m still not buying the BS numbers on TV. Like I said before hide and watch.......hind sight on this thing is gonna surprise ya what China knew and hid QUICK!

Flu R value fluctuates between 1.3 - 2.0 with a mortality rate below 0.1%. By all indications, this new virus is worse. The flu infected nearly 36 million people in the US last yr. Let's pray we don't see this virus become established like the flu.
