As was already posted, avoid the 4 cylinder at all cost.

I’m somewhat in same boat. I’m going to try finding one 4-5 years old, 60k miles give or take. I want 4 door 4x4 and automatic, not manual.

One owner, no modifications, and preferably from an area with a yearly mild climate are what I am mostly looking for.

I had the straight 6 in a Cherokee as a teen. I liked that engine.

I thought Renegades always were the woman Jeeps.

Look for the off shoot models. I got a Jeep Wrangler Chief for a good 7k less than it was worth because nobody knew what the hell a Chief was, nor could they drive manual.

Avoid the yj because of transmission issues and leaf springs. You can find good deals on tj sports if you take your time and have cash in hand. 06 would be the best year IMO, but you can't go wrong with any 6 cylinder tj.

You should go ask this on the Reddit Jeep sub LINK or JeepForum LINK. The ignorant dipshits here aren't going to give you much help.

Dana 44 front and rear, lockers, pentastar and no mods. People who don't know what they are doing can severely destabilize a Jeep doing their own mods.

Same boat here as well.. except, like the OP, i want a 2 door (i’m a purist) with a manual transmission, since theyre more fun to drive.

I’m just looking for one as a second vehicle, an ‘i’ve always wanted one’ type of thing... The main thing i’m looking for, and that is somewhat hard to find, is one that is as close to completely stock as possible.. seems like most of them have had lots of modifications done.. And i’m looking for one that is either a Rubicon, or a Sahara, since those models tend to be nicer overall.. my sweet spot so far seems to be 2009-2012 models, which can be found for under $15k in pretty decent shape, though they arent super common in that price range in those years, those deals do exist if you look hard, and all over the country.

This is 4wd and automatic. I wanted shift, but decided make it easy on her. She loves it because all the boys at her school want it.

Congrats on the grandchild .

Thanks bro

I’m hoping they call it TJ or Wrangler, just to honor the Jeep and all for its role in it all.

Probably more than 95% of what people need.

Also, can someone explain to me why the Dana 35 is better equipped for 35" tires than the Dana 44. I'm interested in the theory.

I had the 2.5L and the 4.0 straight 6 in Wranglers, the 6 had plenty of power and was very reliable. The 4 cylinder's lack of power almost got me killed several times.

Yes likely. Three on Facebook marketplace right now are 2wd 4door.

Just a very unusual option. They were only made for one year and sold at market.

You can order them 2wd, but they aren't really cheaper that way.

I've only seen one or two other ones IRL.

Unless they are listing them wrong. But there is also no lever to the left of the stick shift either.
