The TAF is fine for both 121/135 ops. The current METAR is not. And RWy 11 has CAT III mins for crews and planes qualified.

I know, I know. Decided to do early morning flight because I wanted to make quick trip out of it and spend time with wife and kids.

Would bet everyone’s flight will get delayed even if it looks on time now. Everyone can’t land at the same time when they eventually do get the all clear. Unfortunately, I have been through that situation

Gotta think earlier flights (with longest delays) get priority but who knows.

I think we will be good, Okie. The question is how MSY will handle to backup.

You should be fine for hte game. Trump doesn't land until 6:30 an I'm sure fog will clear before mid day. You may miss some pregame activities but you'll make it for the game

Also it just started raining in the CBD so you may also be fricked

Never fly in the day of the game. Epic fail.

On any other day whatever but today he needs to fly into the alternate airport

I am still curious why presidents stopped flying into Belle Chasse? You don't have to close the interstate for most of the city and its a military base.

Surely the fog will lift but definitely makes a wee bit concerning right now.

When the fronts back up like this, that river can be socked in with fog all day

Current MSY weather report says the CAT II/III low visibility approaches are not available for some reason. Airlines not going to be able to get in until the visibility gets up to 1/2 mile

Truth.

Anyone who does this is playing with fire, as evidenced by exactly what’s going on today.

According to Flightaware, planes are now starting to land. Stacked up though.
