Last night in that ua game they kept saying that tight end was number one Te recruit. Yet all I hear is that Gilbert is the highest rated Te ever. Did injury change the rankings or are the recruiting services at a somewhat substantial disagreement on this guy?

Washington is listed as an Athlete not a TE by most recruiting services.

Arik Gilbert is far & away the best TE/ATH in this class.

He's in a category of his own.

Glad LSU did not go after Washington. The kid seems to have a slow motor, did not do much if anything in under armour game

Washington looks like a Defensive End running routes, Gilbert looks like a Wide Receiver in Chase Young’s Body

Yeh I don’t even think it’s close

Of course I think Gilbert is the best player in the country

Guy moves like terrace marshall except he’s 3 inches taller and 40 pounds heavier. Insane.

Washington isnt even close to Gilbert as a TE right now. Everyone is just enamored with a guy who is 6'7.5 260 with decent speed running routes and catching passes over guys who are a foot shorter than him. It's more like Washington ends up on defense or OT than a dominant TE.

Washington has a long way to go as a TE overall, which is why he's listed as an ATH by most places.

At UGA if he stays at TE we've all seen this story before, he wont be utilized much. Look what they did with 5-star Issac Nauta.

Interestingly, the projection for Gilbert is as a first rounder. The projection for Darnell is 2-3 round. Arik

Darnell

A lot of passes to Gilbert are only like 5 yards but he just breaks tackles and beats guys and gains like 30. He’s a beast and next year he’ll be playing in an offense where he isn’t even the number one threat.

It's ESPN vs 247.

247 is the bacon of recruiting services. ESPN is bologna.

Gilbert is #1 in 247.

ESPN rankings are a big joke in the industry and to those who follow recruiting. Pay them no mind.
