They have an ACC vs Big 10 challenge in Basketball? This would be epic! Has it even been discussed?

Big 10 isn’t in the FCS so SEC has no interest

Why would the big 10 want to end their playoff chances in week 1?

Just make sure it has to be on campus games - none of this Michigan vs LSU at damned Jerry World nonsense.

SEC vs ACC- plays between 5-8 games each season

Kentucky v UL, UGA vs GA Tech, USCe vs Clemson and Florida vs Florida State are annual.
then Vandy vs Wake is fairly often

Chick fila Kickoff classic is usually ACC vs SEC (11 of the past 13 years) will have 2 SEC vs ACC games in 2020.

Then you have the normal home and home the teams do, this season A&M v Clemson, and North Carolina vs South Carolina.

In theory I really like this, but it won't work in football.
But I know Clemson would be a huge fan of this.

It’d be a great idea until Oklahoma, Clemson, Oregon, and Notre Dame all go undefeated and there is/are Big Ten / SEC teams whose only loss is the challenge game vs the best team in the other conference.

There are already several SEC bowl matchups with Big 10 teams.

Clemson this year has shown that in the new playoff system, you don't need a good OOC slate (or even a strong conference) to get in. You need to be undefeated and have name recognition.

It would be cool to see as a fan, but I want my team to win the title. More hard games hurts that. If Oregon doesn't lose to Auburn and instead has a win over Portland St, are they in over Oklahoma?

Play in the north in early September, play in the south in late October. Traditionally, the Big Ten schedule has been too rigid to allow this, but that would make it more enjoyable for the fanbases.

Schedules are done too far in advance but they could set it up starting about 2030

Why would they abandon their annual SEC v. SoCon Challenge every November?

There are so many SEC v. BiG bowl tie-ins Im not sure if it would happen. Id like and SEC v. whichever conference we dont play in bowls much. Maybe Pac 10? Just that the attendance for them is low, mostly.

We play the B1G every year in bowl games. We also play the ACC n Big 12.

I’d like to see some SEC vs the PAC12. We don’t have any bowl tie-ins with them.

LSU vs Oregon in 2011 was the last time I can remember 2 top tier teams playing each other

Edit

I completely forgot about Oregon/Auburn. My bad

Oregon should get props for scheduling good SEC teams

Isn't college football out of conference schedules typically set years in advance? That makes it much more difficult to have a yearly conference challenge based on record like they do in college basketball.

Because football schedules aren't constructed like basketball schedules

I'd like to rotate it each year. Pac-12, Big XII, Big Ten, ACC.
