Last hunt of the trip. It was 28 this morning. Acorns have ruined this season. I had a young 8pt lass through this morning. He didn’t even look at the feeder. All the deer are fat arse hell.

Sittin in a mowed cotton field not too far off the Macon in Richland Parish. Bergara 6.5 Creed, the right wind and a 20 ac patch surrounded by woods on 3 sides.

Nothing yet.

I’m hunting my cousin’s 600 acres and he said the same about the acorns. Said it was the heaviest last crop he could remember. Said they were hanging in clusters like grapes. I had what I’m pretty sure is a tall 6 pt we’ve been seeing on camera book it past me this evening, but I was in a tight spot and didn’t see but a glimpse. Cameras are chock a block full of deer, but they are all moving between midnight and 1:30 AM.

shite at least you are seeing them. Our went dead a couple weeks back and it's been slim picking on pictures. Doesn't make much since.

Nice, almost checked that place out this year. I love the bow only lands.

Anyone been using a doe bleat and having luck with it. I dont think they are chasing just yet here so not sure if it would be effective.

Older brother grunted and rattled a nice 11 point in right at 11:00 today. Beautiful deer.

I grunted in 2 very nice 8 points that were still on the young side and I ended up watching them spar for almost 20 minutes. I wouldn’t use a a bleat. If you know you have good bucks in your area, hit that grunt call sparingly late mornings to mid day every half hour.
