Aranda is getting the athletes he wants and making a lot of money.

Can’t see him leaving unless it’s PAC 10 or Big 10 type job

What's the difference in scoring quickly and going 3 or only getting one first down?

I've read that a lot around here which is normal since there is so little original thinking, but all of you spouting this seem to forget L S U's offense often controlled the T O P in former years. Instead of nothing but a string of 3 and outs,I seem to remember long multi-play clock eating drives. It's time to put that narrative to bed.

All of the "hair on fire" threads about Aranda are just panic attacks. I'd like the OP to quote some reliable sources that back up his thesis. Lacking that he just needs to take his xanax and go to bed.

Are you really arguing that LSU in the past (Aranda years) didn't have as many short drives due to ineffectiveness as this year's team has had quick scoring drives?

I knew I'd get downvotes, but the point remains: why the interest in these mid-major programs? A quality DC for a top SEC job can do better than that, right?

Jeff Scott just left Clemson for the South Florida job. Starting as a mid-major HC is the norm, not the exception.

What if he's quietly let Ed know that this isn't what he signed up for, and asked for his permission and support to look for other opportunities, similar (in a face-saving sense) to what I understand happened with BDP, the NW St job, and Les? I mean, it'd look "good" for him to leave for a HC position, right? Most people outside the program wouldn't question that move.

Blaming the offense for the defensive struggles is what’s “old” and “unoriginal”. People have had that excuse dialed up for years now. The recent improvement on defense seems to support the idea of that being BS. Aranda’s defense being less than stellar is something which has been noticed for several seasons. He’s been asked about it during interviews and has talked about how things are different between the Big-10 and the SEC, how scheme is more important in the SEC. In response to these kinds of questions, he’s also talked about the fact that now that he’s been in one place for four years, there’s a lot of tape out there on him and it makes his job harder.

He probably feels his stock is on a downward trend. So he’s got to decide whether he focuses himself on going back to trying to dig up new innovations on defense or take advantage of the reputation he still has and move on to something completely new like a head coaching job.

Yes. We should shite can our new offense and run the ball more because our defense is on the field too long every game.
