I think so too. I love dogs, but have never been a fan of them on my furniture or sleeping in my bed. I'll readily admit I'm slightly OCD.
I think their dog will be fine for 5 days if it can't jump up on the sofa. This is a 40+lb chocolate lab mix btw.
