My daughter figured it out when she was 7 or 8, but was scared to death to let us know. She told my son who was 11 or 12 at the time and he had a meltdown.

I have a 15 month old that we are pumped to eventually do Santa with, but my wife's sister is a home-schooling weirdo church lady that never did Santa with her 3 kids because it was not Christian or some bullshite.

Of course her kids all each have some weird form of social anxiety or ineptitude. They're very sweet kids, but man, they've got almost no chance of being normal teenagers.

If one of them ruins Santa Claus for my kid(s), I will fricking lose it. Just because your parents hate fun doesn't mean our kids need to have it ruined.

Also, sidenote, they are practitioners of FIRE. Finanical Independence Retire Early. They live in a tiny shoe box, rarely use HVAC or heat, buy nonperishable food in crazy bulk, etc.

These people are bizarre. But hey! They're going to retire early I guess!

I got kids 8 and 11 and they still believe. My 11 year old told me the other day that it doesn't matter how much things cost cause Santa is gonna bring it
