When did you get internet? I remember the business having it in about '95 and finally in the house around '97 or '98.
I didn't have it in my house until '05. I was waiting for the fad to die out.

Lmao whether they were raised on the internet or not is a way better distinguisher than how close they happen to be to the arbitrary year 2000

So you think gen x should encompass nearly 30 years? Yea dude totally makes sense.

Yeah '96ish. My ebay account goes to '96. Middle school. At home, AOL approved keyword sites only, charged by the minute, had to use a logbook my Dad sat next to the Gateway 2000. I grew up doing BASIC and playing Oregon Trail on Apple II's in gifted class. For 5th grade "graduation" had to do a giant report on one of the fifty states. Paper, poster, speech etc. Couldn't choose AL or FL. Mine was Wyoming. Had to do everything in the library via Dewey decimal. No one even asked about internet research, it was never even considered

My parents allowed us to have our own computer. In retrospect, they were probably too trusting.

And Web '96 to about 2005 is of course very different than the Web 2.0 now. Much more niche. We were just the nerdier kids. It wasn't just part of life like it is now

This is the generation I am in. I hate being lumped in with millennials. The core of that group sucks. Put me in my own damn generation
