Is there a way to keep coons out of pipe feeders?

Or would it be better to plant food plot and mineral hot spots? I plan on getting a barrel feeder with timer and spreader in the offseason for cheap. I got 4 coons that are killing my pipe feeder. every night they are there for hours. Deer coming in regular as well but damn lol.

I have been feeding about 10 Boone and Crockett sizes coons myself. Can’t think of any way besides trapping/shooting them to keep them from the corn. They scatter quick when the hogs show up

Make up a batch of coon grease. Mix 1 large jar of vaseline, 1 bottle red pepper flakes, and 1 bottle cayenne pepper. Use latex gloves and smear it all over/around the feeder and below feeder however you have it mounted. The coon will get the grease on his paws, he licks/eats it off his paws to remove it and the pepper lights him up. You may have to refresh it from time to time, but it works and is cheap coon prevention. Later on when you get a tripod feeder, smear it on the legs.

Is it legal to poison raccoons?

A couple of dog proof traps and a can of tuna and those coons are gone.

Put job applications around them.
Clearly joking lol
Order some Carolina reaper powder and mix that with the guys coon grease.
They won't come back.
