My first job out of college was at Olla Standard, then LaSalle HS, then Jena. My wife and I lived out toward Rosefield. I'm reading names on this forum I have thought of since the 70ies. If someone would just mention the salt flat or Bayou Dan, I believe my nostalgia would be complete.

Billy Masters went on to play for the Broncos.

In the 80's arranged for LaSalle to get a bunch of Broncos old weight lifting equipment when they re-did their weight room.

Go to the Caster Spillway.

Start a fire.

Listen to the game on the radio while fistfights and unplanned pregnancies abound!

Hold on, I get this now...let’s all google ‘really obscure towns’ (to act worldly, sometimes mix in - ‘really exotic towns’) and then, instead of googling ‘sports bar near or in ____’, let’s ask people on tigerdroppings where to watch the game there.

Where can I watch the game in Mound?

Don’t know about Bayou Dan, but I grew up wading in Hemp’s Creek down ‘round Nebo. Good times!

Granddaddy used to get fence posts dipped in creosote near Nebo!

I was one of the first to dive and swim through the spillway when it was new. Not now though. full of snakes and logs. We also have gators now. There were none when I was a teenager.

Wow! Someone knows about Olla?

About 1980, Bobby, from Olla, walked on to play QB for the LSU fighting tigers.

I swam Hemps creek 50 years ago. Now it has floating condoms. Too bad.
