LSU's Civil War cannons: Updated

Does anyone know what happened to the two Civil War cannons that used to be displayed in front of the ROTC building on campus? I first noticed them gone in the Spring. They still aren't there. I found this March 2019 article: Article that desbribes the ROTC building deteriorating away. It says the guns were moved, but doesn't say where to or why. The pedestals are still there, sitting empty. I'd like to know if they've been moved to an on campus museum or something where folks can still see them. Hopefully they haven't been given, traded, or sold away. These guns were donated to LSU by Sherman after the war. They were supposedly fired on Fort Sumter when the war started.
Updated to reflect this information from a poster: Just got off the phone with Army ROTC, because of roof repairs, the cannon are in safe storage...once the repairs are completed, the cannon will return.

Somebody saw them and called in an active shooter so they had to remove them.

They were a sign of oppression and toxic masculinity. The new student diversity coordinator couldn’t deal with them as they literally triggered her

Those cannons belong to South Carolina.

The cannons are gone?!? That’s some BS.

This is going to be the official symbol of LA in 10 years

They are with the statues from New Orleans.

This is pathetic. LSU historically produced high numbers of officers serving during major conflicts. What a sad shame to see the school turn its back on a proud history. While we may never see thousands of students doing drills across campus anymore, LSU could do better.
In the meantime, I have little doubt there will be new positions and budgets expanded every year for diversity du jour programs and other areas the more correctly aligned with today's political climate.

A certain group that trafficked in slaves wants us to get rid of all evidence of the civil war

Are they even real cannons? You can make up stuff and no one would be the wiser.

It has been verified that both cannons have been located inside one of the cars found in a New Orleans drainage canal.

They’re in storage.
I was on the ROTC advisory board until a few years ago. Hate to say it, but there were several complaints that the canons were somehow escalating racial tensions given the time period they were used in. People still there tell me it’s doubtful they’re going to be displayed again.
