Sure, but they own businesses or work for their families. Plenty of truck drivers are Sikhs, for example.

I would be fine with them but he has put zero effort into pushing them into law and then rails on the tech companies in CA for hiring Asian programmers

The Asians coming for the last 30 years have been of the trashier variety.

There are a lot more black democrats in Congress because there are a lot more black democrats in the population. A much bigger pool to draw from. I believe if black people really looked introspectively and examined the issues one by one they would find that they align with Republicans more than democrats. Black people are more than welcome in the Republican Party but we can’t force them to switch sides.

Chinese, yes

Indians, no

Chinese and Vietnamese seem to be a little bit less college educated than Indians

Not sure about Koreans.

people with college degrees pay on average >80% more than those with just a high school diploma —if that matters at all. I am starting to shift into the camp where those that pay more should have a stronger say, though I know I am a minority in this.

I was surprised that one of my best friends, the son of Malaysian immigrants, bought in to mainstream lies about GEOTUS so much. I haven’t been able to piece together why.

That's because in all your colleges Democrats are the one doing the "educating".

I think what is often lost in conversation like this is that Asians don't vote as a monolith. Different subgroups and ethnicities within the Asian diaspora have different motivations. They might be voting for the same party, but it might be because of completely different reasons.

My community, Indians, for example are for most parts college educated. Republicans are struggling in general among the college graduate demographics. So that might explain why Indians are voting Democrats. Indians are perhaps more concentrated on urban areas which generally are left leaning areas as well.

Bottom line is there is no simple answer to this complicated question.

Clinton won a higher % of those making less than $50k

Trump won a higher % of those making more than $50k

They whole college/non college doesn’t tell the whole story.

Clinton won those with a college degree by 5 points and those with a postgraduate degree by >20 points. Hillary took younger voters / Trump older voters so that plays to the income piece of it. I do remember the income splits in 2016 being really close. Hillary did carry the counties that make up 2/3 of US GDP.

Horse shite. Republicans are very vocally against criminal illegal aliens. They have absolutely no problem with legal immigration.

The average GOPer is pro legal immigration

as long as those immigrants are high skilled, lack sketchy backgrounds, and aren’t going to be on dole

How religious are Asians?, because without the evangelical christian vote, Trump would have gotten about 20 million votes.

So religion probably not playing much of a part in their political decisions, and the fact that Asians are the smartest demographic and thus are more skilled at separating fact from fiction,

those are the main two reasons.

I think bringing up the religious piece of it is a very valid point as well
