The Advocate is reporting the suspect still at large is the one they think fired the shots. His description is "a man of slight build wearing a black shirt and black shorts and driving a light colored sedan."

Why don't they ever tell you it was a black guy?

I am not one either, but it wouldn't surprise me if either the media took a "there was a shooting near a walmart" into "shooting AT walmart" because that will get a lot more people interest.. More people clicking on their websites, etc..

Or there was something, but with what has gone on lately, with the mass shootings at a walmart, they don't want any time of shooting... walmart story to get out any further so they just put out an official "there was no shooting" report.

Excellent reporting by the media. Also, love the bottom right story of the obese white whale giving intel to her boyfriend helping him evade police lol

I know I'm about to make a dumb comparison, but this goes to show how bad our local media is in doing their jobs...especially in urgent situations.

I remember watching the live feed of the Dallas Fox affiliate during the police ambush in 2016. Granted, media was on the scene because of the protests. But it was an incredible 2-3 hours of accurate information, clear reports, without any sentimentalization.

So, did the OT and the Internet do a solid job of shaming WBRZ for their wishcasting reporting?

Latest according to The Advocate is that there was an altercation in the Walmart, guns were pulled but not fired. People panicked and ran. Guy got caught in the stampede and injured. No one was shot.

So didn’t Sid give a live interview a few hours ago explaining that an innocent bystander had been shot in the altercation? Did they not talk to the hospital to find out if he actually had a gunshot wound before speaking on camera?

I worked in media years ago. Most of which seems like manipulation or conspiracy is merely incompetence.

Wow. There was a woman doing a live interview with one of the news stations across the street right after it happened saying she was in the store and heard the gun shots.

UPDATE: The sheriff's office says the altercation inside the Walmart began after a man approached another person at the customer service counter. The aggressor allegedly told the man, "Hey I've got something for ya," walked away and then returned with a pair of scissors, holding them as if he were about to stab the other man. A sheriff's office spokesperson says the other individual drew his gun in self-defense and pointed it at the suspect. The suspect then dropped the scissors as he turned to run away. Officials say when he went to pick them back up, one witness allegedly shouted "gun!" prompting "total chaos" inside the store. Investigators are examining video from the scene and hope to release a description of the suspect soon. He could face aggravated assault charges, an EBRSO spokesperson said. The sheriff's office says it's confident the man with the gun acted lawfully and will not be charged.

So now it was scissors?
