Edelman was a college QB. But Edelman has world class quickness and enough speed to go the distance if he gets behind you. Etling isn’t quick or fast at all so its going to be tough for him to be the next Welker or Edelman. The patriots already have that guy with Braxton Berrios he looks just like Edelman and Welker

Funny but why would BB waste his time trying to make it fit if it wasn’t a true possibility?

Having a serviceable wideout that can play backup qb is exaxtly the kind of moves that make NE better at personnel moves than all the others combined

There’s 90 roster spots right now and they have a couple WRs out with injury to begin camp. Just trying to give him a chance to try to make the practice squad again since they drafted another QB.

He’s nowhere near athletic enough to make the 53.

How'd this get downvoted lol?

With seeing how BB has done things over the years, it wouldn't surprise me that he intentionally drew attention to this to use GOATling at WR for a trick play during a game. Line him up at WR, throw a backwards pass to DE and have him throw it behind a receiver 40-50 yards down field.

They would just have Edleman do that.
