but think about the 2016 hype around LSU leading up to the road game against Wisconsin. Eerily similar if ya consider the talent on that team and how no one thought Wisconsin had a shot.

Wisconsin had a shot because of the inept offense we ran that day (and season). This is an entirely new staff, new offensive philosophy and I believe we are more talented (time will tell).

No kidding. That game-sealing INT from Brandon Harris was one of the worst decisions I've ever seen. I also recall that we hardly had any health DTs in that game and they gouged us running the ball.

Shouldn't have either of those problems this year.

And before the season everyone on this board was saying how LSU was going to skull frick Wisconsin.

Has a head coach ever been punished more for the sins of the previous head coach more than O?

I know I know he was on that staff for 1 full season plus four games into the 2nd before becoming interim. He has done numerous things to show he is different from the previous coach and still he is punished for his sins. I just don’t get it.

O has some faults and he needs to prove himself this year but he should be allowed to make his own mistakes and not be judged on what he could do because the previous coach did something.

Sure it is and I’m excited and since were stating the obvious also a different staff But from a talent and hype standpoint not a lot different.

I don’t know dude, that 2016 team was loaded with talent. It’s a shame we only went to the Citrus with those guys.

Assuming you’re talking about just on the offensive side of the ball... Maybe. I love our top 3 WRs. I love Burrow. Our most talented RBs are true freshmen. Our O-line is a big question mark

Bottom line is O hasn’t yet proven he can put a good offense on the field. Obviously it’s been only 2 years and this may be the year, but it’s not like he’s done anything in his career to show he can put a prolific offense out there to where he should be given the benefit of the doubt. I am pretty hopeful though, considering the continuity we have from last year and the talented backs we have coming in as well.
