Shoulder Injury?

I have a dull ache in my upper back just below trapezoid. I notice that my arm is weaker on that side of my body now when lifting. What injury is this? How should I treat?

Go to a doctor. It's near enough to the spine (it sounds like) that you don't want to mess around.
Rest and not reaggravating it until you have a solid diagnosis are all I'd suggest.
