Wanted to come to the board to see if anyone has the same thing. I was prescribed medicine and will have followup blood work done in 3 months. Any side effects or issues I should look out for?

If you want to hear the truth. Keto will clear all of that up.

I have the opposite, hypothyroidism. For me, no side effects on meds but I just take synthetic t4.

What meds did you get prescribed?

Keto is known to regulate your thyroid unlike any other method. If you want to shove pills down your face go ahead that’s your choice. Personally I’ll try anything I can before drugging myself.

Yeah you're going to have to back that claim up. Nothing I've ever read anywhere mentions keto helping with thyroid regulation, and I've read all over the place for help with hypo. In fact, most things I've read say to NOT do keto with hypothyroid as low carb can cause t3 to lower. Haven't read much about hyper.

He’s hyper. The chief complaint of Keto is that it lowers thyroid function. Surely you understand the difference.

Sure I do. That is why I mentioned I haven't read up on hyperthyroidism much. But regardless I still haven't ever heard anyone mention using keto for hyperthyroidism or to regulate thyroid function.

Is that the one that makes you fat or skinny?

My mom struggled with it for a few years she was (I think) hyper and the meds caused her to go into hypo. Might be opposite. It was hellish for her for a few years. She couldn't get out of bed a lot of days. She went from finishing iron man races to not being able to get up in the morning. She has it regulated now and is healthy as can be, so there's hope.

Hyper makes you skinny. Lots of bodybuilders frick themselves up and take T3 when they are trying to cut

Good luck with everything. If it turns out to be Autoimmune, there aren’t any cures out there, but the adoption of an anti inflammatory diet and supporting lifestyle could help. If you want to know more, look up the Autoimmune Protocol.
