It has nothing to do with bandwagoning. The view of blacks within Louisiana of LSU in many places is that LSU only wants us to make money off us. As a black man who went to LSU, I have been repeatedly asked why I attended there by everyone from a high school teacher of my own who is an LSU alum to friends, family and people in just general conversation. Most black people just see LSU as a PWI who protects its own, eats up all the instate education funding and only cheers for blacks when we are trying to raise a trophy in LSU's name. Posters here speaking graciously on the same kids that considered LSU, then trash them when they exclude LSU. But some still come and then there is the conflict of interests, posters who cheer for LSUs black athletes on the Rant and then trash the race on the Poli board. A lot of Louisiana blacks think that's LSU, two faced. Cheer for black athletes, racist underneath. Not saying its all truth, but its the perception.
Bama just gets chosen cause they beat LSU at what they love most and they revel in it. Even though the same ideas are probably had by blacks in Alabama of Alabama.

LSU and our fans could work to reduce the racist perception. As a recent LSU graduate and HS football coach, I can tell you that a lot of people think LSU is not for Black people. My players are actually surprised when they find I went to LSU. There are tons of instances that we can point out but it all boils down to the perception of these young men. They see you cheering for the black athlete but there is almost no interaction before or after. No understanding of their world or their issues.

Secondly, Southern's people hate LSU. I have been trying to figure out why for many years. We need to fix that.

Also, kids these days join the winner instead of competing. We lost some kids to other schools until Ed O started coming around our HS. ESPN continuous cycle of Saban and Bama is nauseating but it's shiny and attractive to young impressionable kids.

Other parts of Tigerdroppings oozes blantant and over the top racism.

Lastly, we need some strong arse offers.

Also it’s got a lot to do with front running. Not a black or white thing but kids that have no allegiance to a state university or any school for that matter via their family will latch onto the winner of their time.

We saw this with USC. Now it’s bama. Why are there so many Steelers fans nation wide? Because we people didn’t have a team to pull for in the 70’s they adopted the team on top.
Same with the patriots of the last 20 years

Those are some cold hard facts right there.
