Anyone have a sure-fire spot they catch pogies with a cast net in GI? Preferably on the east end (staying at Sand Dollar). TYIA.

Cast a net where they clean fish at a pier or dock.

I usually cast net on the side of the road along Hwy 1 near those bridges before you get to GI.

I usually catch plenty of cocahoe and finger mullet and seem to do better than pogey. I also think they last longer in a live well.

Yeah, IIRC, there are a few culverts that go under the road where you can try along HWY 1.

You need to look for them. If its calm enough you will see them flitting on the surface. If you don't see them, you won't catch much. Try around the rocks on the north side of the coast guard station.

And by the way, stay away from the 50 caliber machine gun on the cutter.

dont do this
you'll come up with a ball of hardheads in your castnet, and then you'll be throwing your castnet with the hardheads in it overboard

It appears that you don't know what pogies eat!
