You left out the best part which is Broome saying she fully supports the bill that would allow the entire parish to vote on St. George because their "breakaway" would negatively affect the "entire parish".

1. It's not a breakaway.
2. The "entire parish" is not negatively affected, just the portions that leech off of St. George.
3. She's basically saying the citizens of St. George have no right to decide their own future.

If that's not enough to vote her out next election, I don't know what it will take. I think St. George will pass easily, but the parish as a whole is lost because the morons will keep voting Broome types into office.

They'll continue to vote her or someone like her into office.

You are seeing the later stages of the prediction that a democratic republic can only survive until citizens realize they can vote themselves money.

Be ready, it’s coming to a federal stage near you.

"breakaway"

I get so weary of this term. Nobody is breaking away from anything.

The second I hear/read someone calling it a breakaway, I dismiss their opinion as biased and uninformed.

An unincorporated area trying to set up their own city is not a breakaway. It's just an incorporation effort. That area is not Baton Rouge. It's just unincorporated EBR.
