Finally. This will give some stability to the pitching staff and will more than likely roll over into the batting aspect..

3 starters hopefully going through the 5th..then you have Peterson and Hess for 8 & 9..just need 6 outs from the rest of the staff for 6th & 7th inning..

This should’ve been done from the get-go but like posters above said about him coming back and being promised a weekend starter position..I get it but he’ll make his money in the pro’s by being able to get 3 outs..

Hess being a starter, I have to assume, was based on the lack of other options until the 3 freshman came of age. As that happened with each one, they were injured, furthering the need for Hess to stay in a starting role. Even now, I’m kinda torn because I don’t think anyone believes putting Hilliard in the Friday night role makes us any better. Hopefully, he only makes 1 start and we finally get what was always supposed to be...some talented freshman and a steady Walker claiming a hold on the rotation and Hess coming in to shut mofos down

I get it and I’m glad Hess is back in the pen, but our starting pitching depth right now is Nil. All 3 of our starters at this point have been hurt this season or in the past.

We don’t just have a rock steady rotation right now. I’d call it very questionable right now.
