I didn't like the hire but he's done some good things. Who knows? He might end up being a great fit.

There is also a myth going around that Clemson has recruited on Bama’s Level. That is simply not true. If you go back and look at their past classes, nothing really stands out. They definitely get coached up at Clemson and it kind of hurts your argument. Although, I do agree that we have to match them in the trenches in order to compete with them.

O was left a stocked roster and can't coach. Ok !

They've had elite quarterbacks

Yes talent gap is real. Saban however is a very very good coach. And he uses analysts. To take Bama to another level

Clemson has arguably recruited as well as Alabama.
I remember one year clemson had a top recruiting class, but the only signed 14 players. Do you know how highly rated rack of those players has to be in order to generate those type of class rankings?
Just went back and looked, it was 2017 class. Another thing I’ve noticed, damn Alabama signs a lot of players

That's a lot of words there, but unfortunately for you...
There is no "equal talent mantra". I don't know where you getting that, but while LSU has been recruiting top 10 classes, Alabama* has been consistently getting the top class. When one team, Alabama*, recruits consistently higher-ranked classes than another, LSU, there is not equal talent.

Until our offense line learns to block we are in deep shite! We have agood QB & running backs this year but when the QB passes he has to run for his life!!!

Alabama LSU equal talent myth.
I think we are equal to Alabama everywhere except for the offensive and defensive lines. They really haven't had any better talent at WR, RB, LB, DB than we've had.
They've just been killing us the past decade on the lines.

Nobody is claiming LSU and Alabama have equal talent. People are claiming that the gap isn't big enough to justify the repeated result.

When the XFL start next year. They will gut Bama with the one and done rule to enter the league. Will the XFL go under like the AAF? Who knows but it will definitely put a dent in their program as well as Clemson.

As well as every other team that has talent

And LSU

I don't disagree with the OP so much as I think he is focusing too much on "beating Alabama." Sure, you want to recruit at the highest level, but for the last few years, we have been beaten by teams that don't recruit as well as we do. THAT's the first problem I want to see addressed (and we may be getting there). Also, no good team has experienced as much offensive futility against AL as we have. I want THAT addressed - time will tell. Sure, AL has had better talent than us or anyone else, but we've had enough talent to fare better than we have, both against lesser teams and particularly against AL.

That’s the ticket to success, top ranked recruiting classes, not just good classes.
Agree to all of this.
And recruiting is part of the coaches responsibilities.
Also, having “great top ranked classss” is good. But it has to be complete. We can’t just rank high on wr and dB but prove to be just good on OL DL two years in a row.
Depth at DL is the key.
When UF and Alabama come around, it would be nice to rotate four Nose tackles into the game. Again, it would be nice, but three can work.
This is why you need 5 serviceable dt as one or two will get Injured during a game or the offseason.

DL is the least of our problems!

People don't realize that Clemson is much more adept at talent evaluation than the guys that run those recruiting services. That's why they don't have a lot of highly ranked classes.
The proof is in the pudding; whether they've recruited as well as Alabama is up for debate, but they're in the ballpark because they're putting pros in the league at a high rate and they're winning championships. When they're not winning championships they're in the playoffs. That's not done off of simply coaching.
They're showing people what it takes. They're Money-balling college football, they're finding undervalued talent and recruiting that, not simply star gazing or following who every other big school is after. You can only do that if you know how to evaluate talent.
