Were you not on TD after the bama game? Pretty sure the talk was about how inferior we were to them from a talent standpoint

This year LSU is on the right track to get an elite recruiting class. That’s the ticket to success, top ranked recruiting classes, not just good classes.
Coaching the talent one has is the way. No other equals this aspect. Talent ranks however as huge as does protecting NFL prospects when they move on from LSU.

One also has to realize that LSU didn't have many players enter the draft this year either. For the first time in many years LSU didn't have a mass Exodus of players leaving. So naturally LSU numbers will be down in terms of players being drafted this year.

It's beginning to change. LSU has more talent on Defense than Alabama and it will show this year.

Love your optimism, but that's a reach at best.

Until we beat them on the field, we'll probably keep losing out on recruiting battles with Bama/Saban.

Getting players to return is a huge factor in the discussion. LSU benefits tremendously from having Rashard Lawrence, Michael Divinity, Kristian Fulton, Breiden Fehoko return.

Don't know how many this season are from La., But that's usually most of the reason for it.
Look it up!

Uh well being that LSU had 50 players in the NFL which was more than anyone I think you are full of shite.

LSU did not had a small number of players eligile this year but that's one year. With as many players has had in the NFL in the last 15-20 years you need to come up with something other than a talent gap. LSU has had a QB problem which can be hidden against most teams when there is a huge amount of talent around him but against top teams you need a QB who can make plays and LSU has not had that on a consistent basis.

At one time during Miles era we were much closer in talent to each other. Yearly that deteriorated until there was a big gap particularly on the O and D lines. Right now they are very much ahead, but have to give O some credit he has fought hard last year and this year to change that talent gap.

Maybe Saban will keep paying players.

Never mind, forgot, we are talking about Ala-fuggin-bama, won't work!

Maybe the players aren't getting coached up as well as they were 4 to 10 years ago

Someone beats them every single year though

Miles was fired because he insisted on trying to beat Bama at their own game, three yards and a cloud of dust.

Clemson has had success against them with equal talent, and last year the better QB.

Ole Miss won a few against them, but went up and over and around them, not controlling the line of scrimmage.

I do think LSU is on the right track by opening up the offense, hopefully year by year getting better at that, but our lines must vastly improve and I'm just not seeing that with CoachO's recruiting classes.

Yep. Bama has dominated LSU with talent and coaching up players for 7 or 8 years. Orgeron has reset our recruiting organization and reach. Getting Burrow at least showed National recruits we are pointed in the right direction.
