Slidell has some good places to eat, especially Kenney Seafood. It's an underrated town for food.

My wife (no pics) and I’s first purchased home was in Slidell. Bought in 2003. Wooded area at rear of property. Nice neighbors. Hell, LSU won a national championship while living there. 1st born brought home there. Good memories.
Because we didn’t flood (North of I-12) and dodged the Pine Tree fall fest of Katrina we sold our first purchased home for a $41,000.00 profit after only living there slightly over 2 years.
Allowed purchase of the home I live in now. Away from Slidell.

1. The taxes collected from the residents built the west side of the parish
2. It makes more in charitable contributions to local charities than any other city in the parish
3. The fishing is great
4. There are far fewer Chalmations and West Bankers
5. The mayor Greg Cromer is correcting all of the f-up city processes and it might be the easiest place in the state to do business now

Not to change the subject, but I will be passing through on my way to Venice next month and wanted to try Peck's Seafood. Is it any good or should I go somewhere else?
