I searched diligently and can't believe this wasn't posted. The video is from FaceBook so I am just going to link the article and you can watch the video there. Quite the melee to say the least. Bonus points to read some of the FB comments. NOLA.com shut their comment section down after things got out of hand.

Fair warning - Mute the volume or bear the hell of hearing the fine lady filming repeating "HE WRONG FO DAT" about thirty five times with a couple of "HE frickING WRONG FO DAT" thrown in for good measure.

The New Orleans Police Department’s investigative unit that probes uses of force on the public by NOPD officers is looking into the takedown of a woman who was handcuffed over the weekend as officers broke up a fight during French Quarter Festival, NOPD said Monday (April 15).

A video posted Saturday on Facebook shows what appears to be a white-shirted NOPD officer twice throwing a woman to the ground before other officers help him handcuff her near the intersection of North Peters and Bienville streets. The woman appears to hit the white-shirted officer during the struggle.

The New Orleans Advocate, which first reported on the video and internal investigation, identified the white-shirted officer as newly promoted 8th District Commander Octavio Baldassaro. Two law enforcement sources who were not authorized to speak confirmed Baldassaro is the white-shirted officer shown in the video.

Since posted on Saturday, the video has had 48,000 views and 1,300 shares, along with more than 550 comments.

Bonycle Sokunbi, a spokeswoman for the Office of the Independent Police Monitor, confirmed the taxpayer-funded watchdog organization is monitoring NOPD’s internal probe.

“The review of this incident must address if the high-ranking officer involved in this incident used the ‘minimum amount of force that the objectively reasonable officer would use in light of the circumstances to effectively bring an incident or person under control,'" said Sokunbi in a Monday press release that cites NOPD policy.

Just cause a woman is involved doesn’t mean anything. Sometimes bitches need to eat concrete to get their minds right.

Don’t go to Nola and start fighting and you won’t eat concrete.

Fairly simple to understand

Looks like he was actually trying to use restraint until she hit him. Don’t have much sympathy for her after that.

Who gives a shite?

Don't think for one second that woman wouldn't be bearing the shite out of the cop if given the upper hand

You can't see them but there are a lot of dougnuts in that video. Interesting how deftly the horses move and know their role as blockers, to keep the rabble out of the ring.

It's really fricking simple to avoid getting slammed to the ground by police. Millions avoid being thrown to the ground by one every year in the french quarter

The woman took some swings. Best part of the video is watching how well those horses clear the crowds out.

One racial divide issue in this country is how people view altercations with the police. No one in that crowd suggested that the woman was wrong for taking some swings.

I noticed this commander Friday of fqf as he stoped traffic to cars crossing canal from royal to let people cross and thought to myself “great for nopd, here’s a Hispanic man wearing the white uni’s”. Csb
